Re-Building Fund
| Although the building was
insured and should be able to be re-built within the insurance settlement, the
contents and lodge furniture may not be able to be replaced under the contents
insurance. Much of the furniture and contents were antiques and will be
difficult to replace or have reproduced.
The pedestals (see opposite) were given to Walden Lodge by it's first Master Joseph Bell in 1869. The full size timber columns supporting the globes at the entrance will probably be impossible to replace. It is envisaged that there will be a considerable shortfall on the replacement of the 'Hall' furniture, fixtures and fittings and also on items lost by individual Lodges and side degrees. |
