'Dreams' do come true

Members of the Walden Lodge No 1280 made a further donation to the  'Dreams Come True Charity' at a recent presentation at the Masonic Hall, Church Street, Saffron Walden.

Established in 1988, the Dreams Come True Charity has helped lift the spirits of numerous children with very serious or terminal medical conditions all over the UK by giving them that 'once in a life-time' dream experience. Dreams are shaped by a child's imagination and each year they receive requests from children suffering from conditions such as childhood cancers, leukaemia, muscular dystrophy, cystic fibrosis and other long-term debilitating and degenerative diseases

The present Master of the Lodge, Terry Keen together with his wife Rita, passed over the latest cheque for £320.00 to Mr D'Arcy Myers the Chief Executive of the West Sussex charity, at a presentation attended by Lodge members and their wives. This along with two earlier donations, totals over £1000.00 raised in the last 15 months.

Mr D'Arcy Myers spent some time with those present explaining, the excellent work done by the charity and his good fortune to be able, at times, to observe first hand the benefits for the children the charity helps.

The Master of the Lodge together with his family, gave focus to this his favourite charity during his term of Office. The money was raised during various Masonic functions and by his Son-in-Law, also a member of the Lodge, completing the London Marathon.
