Hall Re-Dedication 26th October 2001

The Re-dedication of  Walden Freemasons' Hall took place on Friday 26th October 2001 at 5.30pm 

The Provincial Grand Master, Rt W. Bro. Col.  Sir Neil Thorne OBE, TD, DL was accompanied by the following Provincial Officers :-

At 5.30 p.m. W.Bro. G.W. Newman Master of Walden Lodge No 1280 opened his Lodge and was then requested to receive the Provincial Grand Master and his Re-Dedication Officers by, W.Bro. C. Thoms Provincial D.C.

W.Bro I.A. Greig, Hall Association Treasurer, then presented a paper entitled  'A brief History of Freemasonry in Saffron Walden 1869-2001'.

This was followed by the Chairman W.Bro. J.W. Emmerick presenting the plans of the building to R.W. Provincial Grand Master and requesting that the Temple be re-dedicated.  

 

    

 

 

The Provincial Grand Master then unveiled a brass plaque suitably engraved to mark the occasion.
