Lord Braybrooke (a non mason) visits Audley Lodge |
Lord Braybrooke & W.Bro. Alan Coote |
|
Lord Braybrooke, a non mason, visited Audley Lodge to make an official presentation of two charity bowls made from the timber from the Audley End Estate where he is "The Master of the Estate". Lord Braybrooke was not aware of a Masonic Lodge named after the estate and was even more surprised to learn that the Lion above the entrance to Audley End Mansion was used as the central theme of the Lodge Banner. W.Bro. Cass Scott, got a local craftsman to turn the charity bowls from from the wood, yew, off the Estate to replace those that were lost during the1999 Saffron Walden Masonic Hall fire. A charity collection was taken at the Festive Board and a cheque for £200 was presented to Lord Braybrooke and made out to his favourite charity St Clair's Hospice, Harlow, Essex. |
